This difference can be however expressed in many fields. Some of those additional fields are beyond what just sumps into your mind ( when instantly comparing Art vs Craft).

Some sportsman elevated their sport ( craft)  to a total new level of absolute art. You know what I mean! Those ones took a rocket and tennis ball and played it and some used the same and created absolute art of movement and perfection. 

You too can achieve this level of ART by using the same components that you used while making craft. Same components used differently, consciously and intentionally can elevate the value and the rating of your work into the level of an assist.

Your digital / virtual business location: Your website design, all the rellevant social media platforms pages. All must be designed and include the same branding pattern so that customers will be able to immediately notice and feel that they have "landed at home". 

Other digital / virtual business locations and groups: You must figure out where ( on what social media platform / groups) are your customers spending most of their time and interest and you must build a presence on those Other digital / virtual business location and groups. 

Your ONLINE SHOP - Your ONLINE SHOP design should be user friendly and simplify the shopping experience. Your ONLINE SHOP should be a part of your website so that customers know that they buy from you rather than having to visit another website ( not as trust worthy portal as you have).

Take your customers for a HONEYMOON

Today I have visited a beauty salon that is for SALE. The aim was to find a beauty salon/location that we will be able to convert into the FIRST POINT OF SKIN SALON in South Africa. Here is an insight into the (very general details) performance of this salon. 

ESTIMATED P&L

Sales	ZAR30,000.00
Cost of sales	-ZAR15,000.00
Salaries	-ZAR20,000.00
Rent	-ZAR10,000.00
Total summary	-ZAR15,000.00

As you can see, this salon looses at least R15.000 each month. That makes it R180.000 annual looses. As mentioned above, those figures are GENERAL and don't include all the other expenses, such as advertisement, insurance, electricity etc...So, the losses are obviously BIGGER.

Summary of products and furniture: I will be generous to summarize the furniture, the products and the cosmetic equipment for maximum R40.000. 

The PRICE TAG for this salon is: nearly R200.000 (About $20.000).

You are asked to pay R200.000 in order "to obtain the rights TO LOOSE another R180.000-200.000 each year" (see above estimated P&L). 

Estimating your businesssales VALUE:

If you ask any accountant for the formula in order to value your business, they will tell you to ask for 2 year profits before TAX. It means that if your earn R200.000 annually after paying tax, you can ask for maximum R400.000. In addition, you can ask for furniture and equipment. This furniture and equipment must be calculated while taking into consideration depreciation. This means that if (for example) your furniture is 3 years old, you can ask for maximum 40% of its original buying price. The depreciation on furniture, computers and other cosmetic equipment is calculated as 20% each year. 

If you have retail products in stock, you can add them to the sales price and cabin items are calculated as 50% of their original buying price (as they are used). 

Bottom line: this salon must pay me in order for me to take over their losses as well as their commitment for their rent agreement. This salon doesn't have any sales value whatsoever. This is especially justified seeing that this salon employs a cosmetician that is responsible for most of the clients. So, if this cosmetician decides to leave, most of the customers will leave as well. Hence, it is a great risk to take over such a business that depends mostly on one key staff member.

YOUR BUSINESS VALUE is your retirement fund:

1. Remember the BUSINESS VALUE FORMULA as described above. It makes great sense to develop a business that will show ongoing growth and in any case generate profits seeing that you can ask for at least 24 MONTHS OF PROFITS when you sell your business. 
2. You can ask for even more than 24 MONTHS OF PROFITS on condition that your profits grow from year to year (not the same profits for each year). 
3. Having the clients spread equally between your staff (not loaded on one staff member) makes your business more stable and hence more attractive (less risky). 
4. Having customers LOYAL TO YOUR BRAND and not particularly loyal to any certain staff member makes your business even more attractive. 
5. Fight for a super profitable business as every penny that you earn is equal to at least 24 times MORE when you sell your business. YOUR BUSINESS IS YOUR INVESTMENT FUND see the upper stage of the retirement pyramid image below...

So, today we have added a significant new customers by signing the agreement of allocating a sub distributor for the Capes Areas (see the green borders: Western, Northern and Eastern Cape). 

By next week DR BAUMANN South Africa will start shipping products to the new sub distributors who are locate din Cape Town and by the end of April/ May DR BAUMANN South Africa will start presenting the various Skinology seminars as well as the Various Millionaire seminars. 

This new development will add both profits as well as contribute to the general brand awareness to the DR BAUMANN South African national distribution. 

 

Think about it, be aware about increasing your business capacity as well as your business profitability while using your current business structure, without adding any additional costs. This is actually what it means to add another sub distributor.

 

By adding sub distributors and increasing the general BRAND AWARENESS, also other areas within the general national territory will benefits from the increased BRAND AWARENESS. The general national distribution will gain more credibility by having all or most of the populated areas covered with educated and committed distributors/sub distributors.
