It’s the first real“sun shining” day today. The air is cool but hey there are clear blue skies and I’m letting my face and body gets some real sun. Thinking how some nationalities are obsessed with weather conversations. When I speak to my friend in Finland there is always some relatively lengthy discourse on the snow or the first summer berries and of course English conversations tend to go the way of “there is rain today, there is no rain today and I forgot my brolly” (translation umbrella).
I for one will NEVER be without my brolly or will even resort to rugby tackling someone for theirs, rather than face a really bad hair day. I must be the only and I mean the only person in the entire universe, in the history of the world in fact who” laid low” on the deck of a boat every morning curlers in hair (until my hair was dry) on our family trip down the rivers of Southern France. Snigger all you want. There were no hairdryer possibilities and I didn’t want to rough it. I’m just not the “roughing it “type. “Spoilt” my husband called it but I didn’t care. I had great looking hair everyday. No Bridget Jones moments for me, at least not on that fantastic holiday.
Speaking of which, I’d really better get on with talking to you all about summer trends for make up (as I noticed that the cosmetic and fashion houses are already revealing their autumn winter looks 2010/11) and dive headlong into this season that has been termed” playful and impertinent” by fashion gurus.
The happy, uplifting colours are a melody to the imagination and true summer escapism. This“colour fest” is essential after our really, really long winter. Take a plunge into the depths of the sea to discover every nuance of blue, turquoise and aqua green enhanced by mauve and purple. Sea anemone pink and rich corals are there in abundance. On land one can wonder amongst the forbidden fruits, kumquat, tuberose, and pomegranate and the warm yellow tones of the sands and sunlight.
The stars of the season are the greens, some grey, nuances of red, fuchsia, hibiscus, coral, mauve and sand neutrals. Bright neon colours are to be found in beachwear. (Be still my imagination! I keep on getting a mental picture of Borat in his neon green cutaway swim wear. It’s hard to deal with!)
Make-up has all the sizzle and excitement of the summer fashion. Eyes are glossy in gem colours or ocean nuances ,pool blue or purple shimmer eyes and defined eyebrows. Delicate complexions, are in.Tea rose, bubblegum pink or light fuchsia cheeks are a must and rose, berry pink, fuchsia or shades of coral are it for summer lips. The daring are using elements of yellow, mango and papaya on their eyes in combination with mauve or turquoise,so it’s clear that you are free to go wherever the mood takes you with your makeup this summer.
I want to remind you all in the midst of all this summer euphoria that when I talk about safe skincare, I am not only talking about creams and lotions I am talking make-up as well e.g. your foundation is actually an extension of your skincare and you should choose a Bionome foundation to guarantee a healthy beautiful summer skin. As some of the most known allergens (allergy creating ingredients) exist both in beauty products and make-up a sure safe choice is Bionome colour and Bionome skincare.
